On the back of winning the Coach of the Month award for February in the
Tanzanian Premier League, Simba SC coach Steve Barker will hope to stitch another win together when they take on Pamba Jiji on Thursday afternoon.
Barker saw out a successful month of February, as he guided his side to two victories and one draw en route to claiming the individual accolade.
As it stands, Simba are fourth on the log, after recording 27 points from 12 matches as they look to push for a CAF qualification next season. Simba will head into their next game one point behind third-placed JKT Tanzania and second-placed Azam.
Simba last saw out a 2-1 win over Singida Black Stars on 11 March and extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the Tanzanian Premier League. Overall, Simba noted three wins and two draws in their last five league ties.
Pamba are hot on Simba’s heels heading into Thursday’s fixture and trail the Tanzanian giants by three points after recording 24 points from 15 games.
While Pamba likewise hopes to challenge for CAF qualifications, the Mwanza side is unbeaten in their last three matches, with their most recent result being a 2-2 draw with Azam on 2 March.
Regarding their form, Pamba recorded two wins, two stalemates, and one loss in their previous handful of league fixtures.

Speaking ahead of Simba’s clash against Pamba, Barker expects the opponents to raise their game amid a grueling fixture schedule.
"We know it's not an easy match according to our schedule,” Barker said.
“We have played a consecutive match abroad, but even if you look at the opponent, the difficulty will increase.
“I have prepared my players enough to ensure we achieve the goal of getting the three points."
