Matchday Eight
Tanzanian Premier League
16-18 October 2026
While the likes of Simba and Young Africans lead the way at the top of the Tanzania Premier League, Fountain Gate, Kagera United and Geita Gold will engage in a battle this weekend in an attempt to evade the relegation zone clutches.
As it stands, Fountain Gate occupy last position on the log after accumulating just four points from their first seven games played.
In a bid to gather steam, Fountain Gate will take on Pamba at the Kwaraa Stadium on Friday as they search for only their second win of the season. In addition to their low position, Fountain Gate are on a five-match winless streak that includes four losses and one draw as they last tasted victory on 18 August via a 1-0 win over Mashujaa on home soil.
Pamba on the other hand, overcame a five-match losing streak to record a 4-0 win over Geita Gold in their most recent league outing. Sitting in 15th spot, Pamba thus noted four points from seven matches so far.
Kagera Sugar will likewise target back-to-back wins when they take on Polisi Tanzania at the Kaitaba Stadium on Saturday.
While Kagera occupy 14th on the log with five points, the Bukoba-based side gathered a much needed 3-1 victory over Mbeya City on away soil last time out as they ended a six-match winless streak in the process.
Elsewhere, 12th placed Geita Gold will hope to end their run of three straight defeats when they face Dodoma Jiji at the Geita Gold Mine Stadium on Friday.
Geita suffered losses to Simba, Young Africans and Pamba in their last three outings as they remained on seven points from seven games played so far. Meanwhile Dodoma Jiji are in sixth spot after noting three wins and one draw in their previous four outings to take their tally to 12 points for the campaign.
