After a frustrating draw against Young Africans last time out, Simba will target a return to the winning column when they face JKT Tanzania at home in their next Tanzanian Premier League assignment.
Simba, enjoying a largely fruitful 2025/26 campaign, will enter their next game in second-place with 43 points from 20 matches, five points behind log leaders Young Africans.
However, the Tanzanian giants failed to move closer to the top after their 2-2 stalemate with Young Africans on Sunday. As for their recent run of form, Simba recorded three draws and two victories in their last handful of Tanzanian league matches.
JKT Tanzania, who are no pushovers, are currently in fourth position with 32 points accumulated over 20 matches.
While JKT Tanzania are 11 points behind their upcoming opponents, a place in the CAF Confederations Cup qualifiers is up for grabs as they trail third-placed Azam by eight points with 10 games to go.
JKT got back to winning ways in their last fixture after securing a 1-0 win over Kinodoni MC on home soil last Thursday. Overall, JKT recorded one win, two losses and two draws in their last five league outings.

Reflecting on Simba’s draw with Young Africans, Steve Barker expressed a positive outlook, stating his side still has time to mount a solid challenge for the league crown.
"There are still a lot of games, so we are going to keep playing game by game and getting maximum points,” Barker said.
“If we can do that and keep the pressure on Yanga, you know, can they keep winning? I am not sure.
"We are still in it, five points can change in one week, so we need to make sure we keep consistency in our results, concentrate on our games, win our games, and we know Yanga drop points hopefully, and the title race can go to the wire”.
