With the Tanzanian Premier League heading toward an exciting close, Simba remain within touching distance of the top as they prepare to take on Singida Black Stars this weekend.
As it stands, Simba currently occupy second on the log after noting 67 points from 28 matches, two points behind log leaders Young Africans with two games left to play.
Simba won each of their last eight league encounters while they also enjoy a staggering 28-match unbeaten streak in all competitions. The last time Simba tasted defeat was on 24 January, where they suffered a 1-0 loss against ES Tunis in the CAF Champions League.
While Simba target first place on the log, Singida will have to settle for fourth place on the table as the final set of games in the league approaches.
Sitting eight points ahead of fifth-placed TRA United, Singida are also eight points behind third-placed Azam, as they missed out on CAF Confederation Cup qualification this season.
Nonetheless, Singida are on a four-match winning streak at the moment and hit the 50 point mark after their 3-1 win over Tanzania Prisons last time out.
Singida last saw defeat on 22 May, when they recorded a 3-0 loss against Young Africans at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

With Simba firmly in the race for the Tanzanian Premier League title, Steve Barker recently urged his side to remain focused on their own course and adopt a workmanlike approach during the closing stages of the season.
"The most important thing is to take the season one game at a time,” Barker said.
"We cannot control what happens elsewhere. What we can control is our attitude, our preparation, and our performance on the field."
