Selemani Mwalimu progressed through FGA Talents and Fountain Gate before emerging as one of Tanzania’s most productive young strikers. His 2024/25 domestic season brought 20 goals and seven assists, a return that placed him among the league’s leading scorers while still 19.
Wydad AC moved to secure him in January 2025. Mwalimu made three short Botola Pro appearances and accumulated 38 minutes as he adjusted to a higher-profile North African environment. The transfer also established an international pathway at a young age, even though his immediate playing opportunities remained limited.
He joined Simba on loan in August 2025 and quickly became a significant attacking option. Across 31 official appearances in 2025/26 he scored nine goals, supplied three assists and played 1,432 minutes.
