Libasse Guèye Profile, Stats and Career Overview

Libasse Guèye was born on Jul 5, 2003 in Guinguinéo, Senegal. He is a 173-centimetre, left-footed winger who can play on either side and also move into an attacking midfield role.

His development path connects Senegalese academy football, a Spanish youth loan, senior experience in Spain and Teungueth’s domestic programme. By the time he joined Simba, he had also completed a full senior international tournament with Senegal.

Career Overview

Libasse Guèye began at Senegalese development club Diambars and earned an early European opportunity with Valencia’s under-19 team. The 2022 loan gave him experience of a major academy environment before he returned to Diambars and moved permanently to Pontevedra in Spain.

Guèye spent two seasons within Pontevedra’s first-team and reserve structures. His minutes were split across different levels, but the spell developed his tactical discipline and ability to operate on either wing. He scored three times for Pontevedra B during the listed 2023/24 campaign.

A return to Senegal with Teungueth FC placed him in a more prominent senior role. During the first half of 2025/26 he made 11 league appearances, played 842 minutes and supplied two assists. His domestic form also contributed to his selection for Senegal’s African Nations Championship squad.

Simba signed Guèye in January 2026. He adapted quickly to Tanzanian football and became a regular starter on the right side of the attack despite also being comfortable from the left. His first 23 league appearances produced seven goals and one assist, while he added another goal in the Federation Cup.

That immediate output made Guèye one of Simba’s most productive mid-season additions. His ability to hold width, attack the far post and switch flanks added a direct option to the team’s front line during the domestic title race.

Playing Style

  • Role: Inverted or natural winger capable of attacking from either flank
  • Responsibilities: Stretching the back line, driving into the penalty area and supporting the centre forward
  • Tactical actions: Changing pace in one-on-one situations, cutting onto his left foot and arriving at the far post

What Makes Libasse Guèye Unique

  • Immediate production: Scored eight times across league and cup after joining Simba mid-season
  • Two-sided threat: Can play wide on the left or right without losing directness
  • Tournament experience: Started eight matches for Senegal during his first international year
